In order to help teachers move quickly through benchmarking a whole class, I made up this table to do a quick calculation of errors. Remember, that you only hear 100 words for this table to be accurate.
Tip: In the benchmarking kit, highlight the 100th word in each longer text (any text over 100 words). Then you know when to stop and do your Running Record calculations. The child should have already read the whole story prior to the Running Record being taken, so that you can then ask the comprehension questions. It makes the process a lot quicker when you have so many to do. Click on the link below.
